Next meetingThere will be NO MEETING on Thursday 3 December 2009The final meeting for 2009 was to have been Mark Blacket but due to a clash with the Australian Systematic Botany Society meeting in Armidale, NSW, 1-4 Dec 2009 this will be rescheduled and will now occur in 2010. next meeting: Thurs 4 March 2010The Melbourne Systematics Forum is scheduled to meet on the first Thursday of each month March-December 2010 in the usual venue: Discovery Centre, Lower Ground, Melbourne Museum, Carlton Gardens. The program of speakers will be updated on these webpages as they are confirmed during 2010. Note that Museum Victoria closes at 5 pm, but security staff will be available until about 6:00 pm to admit participants in the Melbourne Systematics Forum and direct them to The Discovery Centre on the lower ground floor. For admittance at other times, there is an intercom on the left of the door - press the button to speak with security staff. |

| previous meetings | The Melbourne Systematics Forum provides an opportunity for students, academics and others with an interest in systematic biology and related topics to discuss their research results and current ideas in an informal environment. Unless advised otherwise, meetings take place in The Discovery Centre, (previously called InfoZone) lower ground floor, Melbourne Museum, Carlton Gardens, at 6 pm on the first Thursday of the month. Sessions commence with an introduction from the convenor, followed by an informal talk for about 20 minutes. Participants are encouraged to intervene and generate discussion. Meetings generally conclude after about 90 minutes, and everyone who attends a session is encouraged to actively participate. | ||
