Herpetological research at the Museum Victoria covers a broad range of evolotionary, ecological and molecular projects. Research has undergone rapid expansion over the last couple of years with the commencement of molecular research, establishment of a molecular tissue collection and the introduction of a new multimedia collection database (KE EMu™). Dr Jane Melville, the Senior curator of Herpetology, has an active research lab with students and postdocs conducting research in the fields of molecular systematics, phylogeography, conservation genetics and evolutionary biology. |
