Notes on the Australian species of Euchelus and Herpetopoma (Gastropoda: Trochidae) with descriptions of five new species.

Five new species of Euchelus and Herpetopoma are described: Euchelus dampierensis from Western Australia, Herpetopoma corallina, H. elevata from the Great Barrier Reef, H. norfolkensis from Norfolk Island and H. howensis from Lord Howe Island. Euchelus cf. horridus (Philippi, 1846) and Euchelus gemmatus (Gould, 1845) are recorded from Australia.
