Polygordiidae
Species of Polygordius live in coarse sediments in the infralittoral and intertidal. Reproduction and larval development has been described in these hermaphroditic polychaetes, but there are no studies of ecology or feeding biology. The Polygordiidae includes 2 genera, Polygordius with about 15 species and the monotypic Chaetogordius. Although some species of this family have been recorded from the Indo-Pacific, none have been recorded from Australia (although the Australian interstitial fauna has not been well studied.
