Saccocirridae
Saccocirrids inhabit interstitial spaces in coarse sandy sediments of the intertidal and shallow subtidal waters. They include species which browse algae and carnivores which feed on copepods. The Saccocirridae comprises a single genus, Saccocirrus, with about 20 species world wide. Five species are known to occur in Australia, of which 3, from the sediments in the lower intertidal zone around rocky outcrops on the New South Wales coast, are apparently undescribed.
