Natural History
Most sphaerodorids are most common on soft sediments in temperate to polar waters. They appear to be most diverse and abundant in shelf to deep sea depths. Little is known of the biology of the Sphaerodoridae.

The Sphaerodoridae comprises 10 genera and 79 species globally. Three genera and 8 species (4 of which may be undescribed) are recorded from
Australian and Australian Antarctic Territory waters
