Aberrantidae: Aberranta palpata [after Wolf, 1987]

Currently there are no published records of Aberrantidae from Australia. The Aberrantidae contains a single genus, Aberranta.

Type species Aberranta enigmatica Hartman, 1965
Description As for the family.
Comments Two species are described: Aberranta enigmatica Hartman, 1965 occurs in deep water in the North Atlantic off the New England coast and Aberranta palpata Wolf, 1987 occurs in shelf depths in the Gulf of Mexico.
