Cossuridae
Cossurids are small thread-like worms which favour sandy mud sediments. They occur from shallow intertidal depths to the deep sea. It is likely that cossurids are deposit feeders, Two genera are known of cossuridae: Cossura (comprising about 20 species) and Cossurella (comprising 5 species). (Heterocossura has been synonymised with Cossurella by Ewing (1987).) About 4 species of Cossura have been collected from from benthic surveys in southeastern Australia, but they have not yet been studied systematically.
