Questidae

Description

Questids have a prostomium lacking appendages, followed by a peristomium and a single achaetous segment. The trunk segments often show secondary annulation, particularly in the mid-body region. They have reduced parapodia and chaetae emerge directly from the body wall in two bundles. Chaetae include serrated capillaries, hooks with a subdental ligament and trifurcate chaetae. A ventral muscular eversible pharynx is present. The anus is surrounded by two lateral lobes.

The above description is taken from Glasby (2000).
